It started leaking at the seam between the electric motor and the outer housing after about 5k miles.

I just installed this last weekend on my F10 535I. Install was fairly easy just getting to the hoses on this water pump are a bit of a pain. Coolant bled without issue and I'm running great since the install. I'll report back in the future if I have any troubles.

I got a 15' bmw 640i gran coupe msport, and my water pump was giving out, it was left on emergency mode where it would turn on and off my engine fan. This pump keeps my car a lot cooler than it was before my water pump began giving out. I did the whole complete job replaced all cooling hoses and sensors, cause why not I'm already there so I did it all. Everything was great 0 leaks, and great to have my car back on the road. Job took about 2 days but well worth the peace in mind.

Was hoping to replace an upgrade, with something better than OEM, but... It failed after six months, less than 5K miles.

Been on my car almost a year, all is good.
My old pump failed because the housing where the electrical prongs are cracked and it shorted out, this being aluminum leaves less possible points of failure.

Full aluminum, this is a awesome upgraded water pump than the original BMW one which has plastic throughout half of the body.

F10 Water pump replacement
This water pump has held up very well over the year that I installed it. No issues to report and I fully recommend.

I've had to replace my E92 335i water pump SIX times already. I've tried the VDO pumps and the genuine BMW pumps (made by VDO and rebranded by BMW) and none of them have lasted. Some have lasted less than 2000 miles! Five pumps have cracked at the plastic impeller housing - a disgraceful design for such an expensive pump! The last pump (purchased at FCP Euro) failed inside the electronics module, taking down the entire communications bus for the alternator, the battery monitor and several other components. Just sickening. This aluminum Pierburg pump has a far more robust impeller housing, and it runs much more quietly too. Who knows how long this one will last, but so far, it's been good for two years.

2011 BMW 335i xDrive N55 - Perfect fit. Use an engine support bar if you can to lift your engine those few inches to get this and the thermostat in there with the hoses. Made this job such a breeze, even for AWD! This Pierburg is a great choice tho. Metal upgraded unit with the 3 aluminum, one time use eTorx bolts I needed in great packaging on top of FCP Lifetime warranty? These things last anywhere between 60k-100k miles, so it's a good idea!
