The old one (also HEPU) was only 2 years old but for SAFE reasons might as well replace it.

Good Quality. It fit great with no problems.
Notes: First, just unloosen the water pump (Pulley) bolts before you take off the belt. Otherwise once the belt is off you don't have enough resistance to get the pulley bolts off. Torque specs for Nuts that attach the water pump to engine is only 10Nm/7.38ftlbs. Also the Torque specs for the water pump pulley bolts that attaches to the front of the water pump is also 10Nm/7.38ftlbs.

My original pump had a plastic impeller that broke apart. I replaced with this metal impeller pump. Easy to install no leaks, no problems. Did extensive research on pumps and this was the best bang for the buck!

Bought one of these when I first purchased my 98 323i to replace the oem plastic impellar one. After job, immediately noticed my temp Guage, which used to sit dead center at operating temp, now sits pinned slightly cooler than dead center. Quality is good, no sharp edges, nicks, or chips that are ready to fall off. Now after about 60,000 miles since purchasing the pump, I've ordered another just for maintenance purposes as I drive 70 on highway for work. Pulled the water pump, it shows little to no signs of wear. When cleaned up, you can't mistake the old one from the near one that I put in. Same part, 60,000 miles apart. I'm sure it could go another 60,000 if you watch for any leaks and flush coolant semi frequently

Finally, replaced water pump with great fitting and it feels much better now

Had a water pump leak on the original water pump. After reading some great reviews on this part I decided to give it a shot. Comparing this with the original, this looks like a higher quality part with a metal impeller instead of plastic. So far so good!

Great product installed the water pump on my E39 this past Wednesday 7/03/19 cooling system back up and running without a hitch. The bearings gave out on the old water pump and bought this one.

Perfect replacement. This new one had the metal fan on it as well, much better than the stock plastic.
