Great price and added protection versus plastic housing. Comes with a gasket. For the price, it is worth replacing when changing the thermostat.

Housing very good - don’t use gasket they are shipping as of 2021
The gasket is way too thick… it’ll leak and you could possibly break housing bolt or strip head torquing down. They are supposed to be fixing this but it’ll be obvious… but the OE gasket or Elring.

Everyone always says they have problems with these and I’m here to say I’ve never had a problem over 7,000 miles nothing wrong with it.

It works! but craftsman ship is shoddy.
Replaced the plastic one with this metal housing. Original housing was 21 years old and only had some minor pitting in the plastic when I took it off, almost fiberglass like in texture. The mating surface of the metal one was smooth but the casting marks and overfill needed to be filed down. There were metal shavings blocking off some of the bleed hole internally. Used a tiny bit of RTV black sealant and so far no leaks. Unsure if necessary to go aluminum over the OEM plastic.

Perfect fit Better than OEM
Get this instead of the cheap plastic OEM. Better flow and durability.
