Like most other reviewers are saying, gasket leaks very quickly. I did this job with the correct torque, cleaned all the parts and did everything I could to make sure this didn't fail, about 4 months later and now in the dead of winter I get to do this job again because the seal blew out and sprayed oil everywhere while my wife was on her way to work. Going to be getting BMW part now to replace this

This gasket is no good, leaking right after I put it on with proper torque specs.

Leaks after 35k miles COLD
Once it leaks, it leaks bad. went from fine to flinging oil all around my engine bay, previous owner replaced at 47k miles and it failed on me last year in the cold around 92k. Replaced with URO and that lasted only 10k miles, replaced at 102k with Genuine BMW and has lasted me 3k miles so far just fine. The Elring did last awhile but for $20 more I would go Genuine BMW only. The OFHG hasn't gone yet, hoping that won't go until the spring.

Fails in cold weather NOT OEM
Apparently its well-known that this gasket fails in cold weather. This gasket is much softer than the BMW brand one. This is the one time I would recommend getting the actual BMW seal. I had a brand new engine nearly fail because of this gasket. It poured oil ALL over my engine, which was leak-free for 10k miles. As soon as it got cold, it instantly failed and just absolutely poured oil out. This very easily could have cost me thousands and thousands on my SECOND brand new engine. This item should be removed from the website.

Purchased this after reading on the forums how OE is comparable to OEM, failed within 32,000km and I was back in there again. Wouldn't recommend over OEM if you're installing this on a car you intend to keep.

Lasted less than 30k miles. Dumping oil all over my engine and brand new belt which I now have to replace all the front accessorie drive. Would not recommend!

Oil cooler seal and or gasket part # 11428637820
The item was installed on the vehicle within a few days of purchase, Around March 2023, when the vehicle had about 63000 miles on it. The vehicle now with around 76000 miles, has oil leaking out of the area and oil in the coolant as well. The item and or the OIl Cooler Seal only lasted about 13000 miles. ( A small part but expensive results )

Pouring out oil in cold temps
Worked okay for 8k miles, then fails in freezing temps. Pouring oil from cooler all over your belts and pulleys. AVOID THIS GASKET.

Oil cooler seal "Elring" brand
I purchased this oil cooler seal bc it was economic and in my case was a mistake, it developed a coolant leak from the first start, I tried to loosen the cooler, re-torqued it and got better but still leaking like in a spray pattern when the coolant got to temperature,
I purchase the original BMW form FCP which cost like 67% more and problem solved, the Elring did not look damaged in any way but did not seat correctly.
My N55 F10 has the oil to coolant heat exchanger, not he full blown thermostat with the oil hosses running to the oil cooler option but that should not make a difference.
