Noticeably smoother shifts after trans. service
I was surprised how much smoother my 2015 328i x-drive shifts after I did the trans. service at 55,xxx miles. I really wasn't expecting a difference but was pleasantly surprised. The only thing I found that wasn't clear in any of the online videos is that after doing the first fill, and while you're warming up the trans., you're supposed to hold the brake and shift into Reverse and Drive, then through all the gears in manual mode. I expected that when I did that, all the forward gears I selected would stay selected, but this wasn't the case for gears 3 through 8... Reverse, Drive, 1st and 2nd held just fine but when I shifted to 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 manually, those gears would only hold for a second or two; then the trans. would automatically shift back to 2nd gear. Other than that, I didn't run into anything unexpected. I made sure to run through all the gears including reverse several times since it was taking awhile for my trans. to heat up. The only other advise I have is to do yourself a favor and make sure you have a high quality fluid extractor and filler because ATF can make a mess. I bought a cheap one off Amazon or Ebay and it leaked.

Just Do It!
My transmission was shifting hard at 60,000 miles and I decided to change the fluid with this kit. BMW says lifetime fluid but it also says 8 years is considered a lifetime and if you wait until 100,000 miles you are too late as some reviews have noted. Change it at 50,000 - 60,000. My transmission is silky smooth. Kit worked great but BMW makes it hard to reach the fill plug. I had to purchase a stubby hex bit in order to reach the plug which BMW put in at one million pounds torque! :) I would also recommend the oil filler as the plug is hard to reach and on my 2012 BMW 650i right above a very hot exhaust. All in all I saved about $600 doing it myself. Great video to watch. Follow the steps!

It works!!!
2015 BMW X5 xdrive35i 100k miles, only owner. Well guys decided to drain my transmission right at around 100k miles. I know it’s kind of late, but I was under the impression of the “LIFETIME ATF”. Anyways bought this ATF kit with liqui moly 1800. Everything was good, drained about 5 quarts, put 5 quarts back in. At 100k miles atf was a bit dark, but surprisingly in good shape. Then again I don’t really drive the x5 hard. Usually I stay under 2500 rpms through all gears. It’s been about 100 miles since I changed atf and transmission shifts just a bit more smoothly, but not much difference. Not sure if going with long life 8 would have made a difference, but I can’t tell a difference after mixing my remaining original atf with liqui moly 1800 atf. Don’t hesitate to buy if thinking of draining your transmission. -GOD BLESS Proverbs 16:3, Matthew 6:33

Perfect
Since I performed the fluid change with this transmission kit, the car performance of the car has changed drastically. Way better. In my opinion regardless of what BMW says that the fluid is "lifetime", I'm confident this high quality kit will make a difference. Just make sure you know what you are doing during the process. Worth the cost and effort

Best service kit
Exact fit for 2012 528i highly recommend! The liqui moly seems to perform better than any other fluid out there! It made my neighbor interested in the type of fluid I used since he tried using fluid for imported vehicles from a local auto parts store which did not compare to liqui moly

Everything you need
Watch the YouTube video that FCP put out. It details all the things you will need to do. Trans temp reading is a must in order to do this yourself. I used an MHD adapter with their app to get the trans temp. Great kit, more fluid than you will probably need but you don't want to be short on fluid.

Low quality
Made poor quality, two bolt broke tighting with 8 nm torque! Not oem parts!
