Don’t I need 9 liters for 2016 bmw 550i n63tu f10
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
No. That is total system capacity including the volume in the torque converter, cooler, cooler lines, etc. During a drain and fill service with filter replacement you will be removing and replacing anywhere between 5-6 liters with the possibility for more depending on the level at the listed temperature range.

Hi, I have a 2013 bmw 528i, I got this kit a few months ago and installed it on my car, do I need to check and add fluid to the transmission after afew months of driving?

No, there is no need to ever add additional fluid. If you followed the refill procedure and filled the transmission at the correct temperature range you're all set.

Is this works on bmw x5 2013 e70 xdrive 35i?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes, as listed in the fitment guide.
Question Posted by Robert
If I don't have a scanner to read the trans temp, do you think by following the procedures after the initial fill, going through all gears and give it a few mins idling would be enough time for the temps to reach about 40 to 50c for the final fill? If using a temp probe, do I just insert in inside the fill hole to test while engine running?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
A temperature probe will also do the same job and is acceptable if you do not have access to a scan tool that will read transmission oil temp.

Question Posted by a customer
Hi, going through the refill process, I had about 5 and a half went in is that the right amount of fluid for a 2013 bmw 528i?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
That sounds about right as there will always be leftover fluid remaining unless you completely disassemble the system. The proper procedure on how to drain/fill the system can be found attached to the description portion of this p/n in video format OR via our DIY blog post: https://blog.fcpeuro.com/how-to-change-the-oil-in-a-zf-8-speed-transmission.

Hi, I purchased this kit for my 2014 328i x-drive. Going through the cold and hot fill process (at 118F) only ~4 liters of the 7 liters in the kit went in. Is 4 liters of fluid the expected amount of fill for my car?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
That sounds about right for a drain and fill procedure. There will always be leftover fluid remaining unless you completely disassemble the system. You'll want to drain as much fluid as possible until the drips cease. (You can also siphon out additional fluid if you'd like but not necessary).
Question Posted by Marshall
When I drain the transmission fluid, does a significant amount remain in the torque converter? And if so, is there any concern mixing this brand of fluid with the OEM fluid remaining in the torque converter?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
There will always be leftover fluid remaining unless you completely disassemble the system. Drain as much fluid as possible until the drips cease. (You can also siphon out additional fluid if you'd like but not necessary) After draining, fill with the proper amount of fluid and drive your vehicle like normal. There is no concern about mixing old fluid with new fluid as you will be draining the mass majority of the old fluid accordingly.
Question Posted by a customer
Why does the inside of the pan look alot different the one currently in my car? it fits perfectly fine jus inside is a little different?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
This is a change made by ZF. From the transmission oil pan product page: "Please note: This transmission oi pan assembly is a newer version offered from ZF. Production of the pan has switched from Filtran to Hengst which is why the appearance of the pan, particularly the filter element, looks different." The pan in question fits and functions the same.
