Question Posted by a customer
Hi there, Just confirming. Will the kit fit a 2015 F85 X5M? Cheers
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
No. The F85 is equipped with the 8HP75 and uses an entirely different transmission oil pan and filter. The 8HP75 has a separate filter and pan, p/n 24119503407.
Question Posted by Matt
Is there no trans filter on the 2015 X5??
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes, there is a filter. The filter is integrated into the oil pan which is part of the kit and replaced during the service.

I have a 2014 BMW 328i XDrive with 100,000 miles. I drive very conservatively as I have a long commute everyday and the highest speed limit is 55 mph. Without knowing the current condition of the transmission fluid, would you recommend I service the transmission fluid? I've just recently learned that although BMW does not have a service interval for the transmission fluid, ZF says it should be serviced every 50,000 mi. Can I safely drain a little bit of transmission fluid to see the condition of the current oil? Thank you for your time and I hope you're having a great day.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
You can remove a small amount of fluid through the fill plug (make sure the transmission is not at operating temperature when you do this) to inspect the condition of the current fluid fill.

Hi, I recently purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the ZF8HP70 transmission. Will this kit be compatible with my Jeep? I understand BMW uses the same ZF transmission. Thank you.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Without knowing the specific model year of your Jeep Grand Cherokee it's hard for us to say for certain but based on a quick check it looks like Jeep Grand Cherokees with an 8HP70 use OE p/n 68142478AB/68142478AC. When we do a quick check ZF does cross-reference their pan/filter assembly in this kit, p/n 1090298043, to those Chrysler part numbers. We recommend checking the type of oil pan your Jeep is equipped with, as some of the 8HP's used by Chrysler may have an aluminum pan on them vs plastic. Also, make sure your oil pan has 13 screws securing it as well. If your Jeep has a plastic pan held on with 13 screws this service kit or p/n 24118612901KT will work for you.

Wasn't able to get much fluid maybe 3 and a half bottles. Did cold and hot fill as video state to. Didn't think much due to reviews stating the same about the issue. Between Reverse and Drive it jurks hard. Do you think it's due to not enough fluid?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Hard to say on our end why you are experiencing this specific problem. There could be air trapped in the Mechatronic unit.

Is this fluid 100% compatible with BMW's OEM fluid? I own a 2013 BMW 550i and do not want problems down the road.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
BMW's fluid specification = ZF's fluid specification (ZF being the manufacturer of the transmission). Per Liqui Moly this ATF crosses directly with BMW 83222289720 (ATF3 +) which is the fluid required for 8HP transmissions. Top Tec ATF 1800 has been specifically developed for use in 8HP 45/55/70/90 transmissions.
Question Posted by Rodger
Hi, I have used this kit on my 2014 BMW 550i (rear wheel drive) and during the refill process, I am simply unable to get the car to rev to 2000 rpm while in drive. I can get it there for perhaps a split second (maybe 1/10th of a second) but then some rev limiter kicks in and the throttle backs way down and bounces between around 700 and 1500 rpm, and I cannot get it even close to 2000 rpm, and certainly not for 10 seconds that the instructions call for. Do you know how I can get my transmission refilled withOUT getting the engine to rev to 2000 rpm in the various gears? And I have attempted this in 4 different configurations: 1) Foot on brake and traction control on; 2) Foot on brake and traction control off; 3) Car elevated on lift with rear wheels spinning freely with traction control on, and 4) Rear wheels spinning freely and traction control off. None of these 4 configurations makes a bit of difference... the car behaves the same way. When I depress the accelerator pedal to rev the engine it briefly revs up for a split second then drops way down to well under 1000 rpm and basically "fights" me.... and simply will not allow the car to be revved up to anywhere near 2000 rpm, and can't be held at ANY given RPM speed other than idle. So please help if you have any ideas how I might be able to get this done. Thank you!
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
The reason the engine won't rev past 2000 RPM's with all 4 wheels off the ground because the vehicles goes into a rev limit mode. Essentially in drive all 4 wheels need to be moving to some degree to allow for full revs. However, there is no reason to rev the engine during the refilling procedure. To get the transmission up to operating temperature after the initial fill the engine should be left to idle. You will want to shift the transmission through the gears with your foot on the brake not allowing the rear wheels to spin. Once you have shifted through the gears let the vehicle sit and let the transmission temperature come up to it's final filling temperature which is between 40° to 50°C. Once the final fill is done take the vehicle for a test drive.

I have a Z4 sDrive35i and i was looking to buy this product but i wanted to be sure it works for this model?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
No, this will not work for your vehicle. Z4 sDrive35i models are equipped with a Getrag DCT transmission or ZF 6 speed manual. You would need a service kit for the DCT gear box assuming you do not have a manual. Please see p/n DCTSERVICEKIT1.

Does this fit a 2012 528i xdrive model? I am unsure if the xdrive models have a steel pan or a plastic one.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes, this fits as noted in the fitment guide. The same oil pan/filter assembly is used for all the applications listed.
Question Posted by a customer
Looking at Liqui Moly ATF vs ZF ATF. The difference between the 2? For my 14’ 8HP45 transmission.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
No difference between the kits outside of the brand of fluid used in the kits. Either option is a good as the ZF (OE fluid) and the Liqui Moly meet the same specs. Just comes down to personal preference.
