Original part was leaking bad, not the oil filter housing gasket
The original part had failed. The crimp connector on the lower end could spin freely, resulting in a massive high-pressure oil leak. I thought it was the oil filter housing gasket, but bought this to replace as well "while I'm in there". It was the problem. New part works great.

Perfect Fit - OEM For Less
This was a surprisingly easy fix on my E36, especially when coupled with an oil change and replacing my oil filter housing gasket. The photos look like the metal ends don't have the same bend as the original part--they do and it fit perfectly. Excellent quality, a great value.
