To my understanding, this hose is under a lot of stress and will go bad over time. Great replacement part. !!!! FCP Euro has it figured out.

VDO water pump kit for 535i
Recommend changing with a Water Pump or Thermostat replacement. Makes for a worry free job done. You don't have to worry about leaks after having gone through changing Water Pump/Thermostat and having to do it again.

Oem quality hose, highly recommend replacing these when doing a water pump. It also came with a new heat blanket, although it didn’t seem as thick as the oem one but only time will tell. So far so good
