I received my car with shot trunk struts so I never knew how it originally operated. Took good strength to lift my lid and had to push it all the way up, else it would fall closed.
Now, it lifts easier and halfway up it lifts itself. Makes that brand new 'whoosh' sound too.
Install was relatively easy, but changing them out in the cold was a PITA. I cleaned off the ball ends on the car, these struts already came with new grease in the sockets.

Replaced my original and tired and rusty lift supports from my 2007 1750,000 mile 328xi with these bad boys. Very easy install. Contact points were dabbed with clear grease — nice touch.
Took a few open and close cycles to break them in. Fast shipping, quality part and easy install.

2009 E90 BMW 335i Trunk Lid Lift Support
My trunk felt heavy/hard to open and would barely stay opened when pushed all the way up. I replaced both lift supports with these and they worked great. Easy install took less than 10 minutes to complete and the trunk now opens with ease.

Purchased this because the old trunk support lid wasn't working. This replacement was easy to install, just use a flathead and slide the top pin up. It should come off and you just replace, took all of 5 min.
