Quick and easy preventive maintenance
Straightforward replacement. Must-do as preventive maintenance. The OEM flange was starting to crumble apart. I doubt it would have lasted more than 6 months.

Major upgrade from plastic
The original mickey mouse flange on my 328xi was melted and deformed after 135k miles. Luckily got to change it before it left me stranded somewherem This part should have been aluminum for the factory.

Fits perfectly! Replaced original plastic flange at 130K miles. Easy to install, especially if the original flange is beginning to deteriorate.

1000 times better than the oem plastic piece. Replaced mine when I did the OFHG. Super easy and gets rid of a time bomb that will leave you stranded on the side of the road. Worth just the piece of mind.

Coolant Flange Replacement for e92 328i 2009
A must needed upgrade over the plastic OEM. I'm not even sure why BMW even uses plastic within the coolant system. Using a Channellock tool was very helpful here. I also used a rotary tool to help loosen the thick hose clamp and then pried it out. I wouldn't recommend using a torque wrench on these screws because I ended slightly stripping one of the threads. In retrospect, hand tightening is sufficient for the job. While you're at it with this job, I would recommend replacing the oil filter housing gasket as well!
