Don't Fit. Get Stabilus

It is impossible to fit the strut's hooked end over the small bar that attaches to the car body behind the rear seat side bolsters. I bought these thinking I've had good experience with Meyle parts, and I could save $22 over buying a pair of OE Stabilus (or even more over Volvo branded Stabilus). I've previously replaced trunk supports in 2 different S70/850 sedans. Both times the Stabilus brand supports went in in 10 minutes. After spending 30 minutes trying to latch the plastic hooked end in correctly, I gave up. The problem is that the hook is molded slightly smaller and more square-shaped compared with the Stabilus strut. Bottom line: replacing trunk struts is an easy job with a properly fitting part. These don't fit. I'm returning these and getting the Stabilus struts.

Some of the reviewers above may have been rewarded for their positive & negative reviews. We don't hold anything back.
