I'm sorry if I am being too tedious. The questions ask if this throttle body has a relearn procedure which would need either VIDA or Autologic to complete. I am assuming that the software is already pre-loaded and updated when you ship the throttle body out, but once installed, will we need to make a trip to a dealer to complete a relearn procedure? Or is this a question which is VIN dependent?

Can a bad or failing throttle body cause poor performance(lack of power)?

Absolutely, a faulty throttle body may even put a car into limp mode.

I have a 02 XC built in April of 02, does this unit need to be programmed to the vehicle? According to the Volvo Dealer, the TB on my car is 30711554. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Why doesn't it need a software download ?

The unit doesn't need a software download because of its design. On model years 2002 and up the throttle was no longer a module and does not need to be programmed.
