My tailgate was getting lazy, and these work perfectly. The original struts that I took out of the car are printed with both "Volvo" and "Stabilus", so I'm glad I didn't spend the extra money on this part. Try to do the job without fully removing the D pillar trim, I removed it from the right side and ended up breaking a couple of tabs. So on the left side, I only pulled down the top of it, and I was able to replace the strut. Interestingly, the original units I took out were marked 1045N, I am assuming that means Newtons. The new ones said 1200N. Well, the new ones work fine.

Worked better than I was expecting. Driver's side was a bit tougher to attach due to where the c clips sit on the shock. I'm quite happy with the end result.

Ordered and installed both struts for the tailgate. Surprisingly easy install in 2001 V70.
