Shift Blind
I ordered this to replace the broken blind. Replacement was not too bad. I would recommend getting a set of plastic pry tools to get the trim pieces off without damaging them.

New Shifter Blind
I recently purchased a 2005 s40. It's in overall good shape but came with a few opportunities for improvement. We could visibly see that the shifter blind wasn't all there and the "manu" part of the manumatic transmission wasn't working. My youngest son and I took 20-30 minutes to remove and clean the center console, pull out the broken pieces of the old shifter blind (it had gotten brittle and broken into several bits), drop in the new, and put everything back together. The shifter now moves smoothly between Park, Reverse, Neutral, and Drive (and we can now pick our own gears when we want). A simple and inexpensive project that moves the car one step closer to operating, looking, and feeling as originally intended.

Perfect Replacement
ordered this part for my 2007 Volvo S40 and it fit perfectly. Manual Shifting finally works again so I'm extremely satisfied with this product.

easy fix
Definitely worth taking the time to replace! It's a cheap and easy fix, so don't drive around with a sad looking broken shifter blind!

Good part - pain to install
Installing this on my 2010 C70 was a major pain. There are several Youtube videos that help, but it's still a challenge. You'll need to remove the "waterfall" console. To do that, you have to pop the radio/climate display out. Push it out from the back and disconnect. That reveals the two top waterfall screws. Unfortunately, the bottom screws are hidden under the center console. After disconnecting the center console, it has to be slid back to reveal the two screws. You can't do that until you remove the back seat drink holder console. You have to pry the cupholder insert out, to get to the screws. Pulling out the back seat made this much easier. Once you have the waterfall off, you have to get the shift knob off. Drop the collar down and then pull like heck. Pop the shift cover off, remove the electronics board and you can replace the shift blind. Took my daughter and me close to two hours, since we were figuring it out along the way. I have very little car repair experience, but if you take your time and you are careful it can be replaced and be put back together properly. It looks like it would be much easier on an S40 based upon the console design.
