  • Its recommended to replace the Auto Trans Cooling Hose Connectors p/n 9485149 if your vehicle has an automatic transmission.

Its critical to replace coolant with OE approved Coolant/Antifreeze otherwise the radiator can crack or fail prematurely. The anti-corrosive formula will help to protect against rust and has an extended life compared to some aftermarket options. The coolant system in your Volvo protects your engine against excessive heat which can lead to added wear or engine failure in extreme cases. Protect the engine In your Volvo with Genuine Volvo coolant (1 Gal).

Common Failure Symptoms

  • Cracked housing
  • Puncture Core
  • Clogged with Rust from lack of maintenance or improper coolant used

Not A Good Choice

Cheaper isn't always better. The clips that hold bottom of cooling fan were molded incorrectly. Stock ones have wide opening, then step down. The Behr one has an opening that is straight with gap of the the narrower opening only, They will break off when putting cooling fan assembly into place. The mounting bolt slot on the bottom passenger side gap is car to narrow to get the 6mm bolt in that holds the radiator/intercooler/condenser sandwich together. The stock radiator has metal reinforcements in the inlet/outlet pipes to prevent breakage/collapsing. This does not. Go with the Volvo OEM or another but look at the images CAREFULLY for these two design musts. Volvo / Valeo is the way to go, but others may be fine.

Not As Good As I Expected

I bought this to replace the oem radiator in my 04 s60r. Does it work? yes. But you definitely get what you pay for with this. This has provisions for trans coolers for automatics, so if you have a stick, you're stuck with less room or less cooling capacity (not a huge deal, but I would've preferred to not have). The hardware that holds the fan shroud is cheap and mounted in a flimsy area. It took me 10 minutes to get the shroud bolted down because the speed washer/nut kept slipping out and falling on the ground on one side (not a deal breaker, just annoying). The holes to mount the condenser to the radiator were too small on one side so I had to file the hole and open them up (once again not a huge deal for me, but it may be for others). And the biggest fault with this is: the plastic inlet and outlet do not have a metal sleeve inside like the stock one. To me, that's asking for a disaster with the compression force of the clamps and the heat cycling. I hope this lasts me at least 30k miles. If I had to do this again, I would pay the extra few bucks and get the slightly more expensive radiator assuming at least the plastic inlet + outlet are reinforced.

Perfect fit as a replacement for the 2001 Volvo V70 T5 OEM. Couple things: the radiator comes with two screws with square backing nuts as a replacement for the two 10mm bolts that hold the stock fan shroud in place. The location of these new bolts fits the stock fan shroud…but barely. It take some finesse. Secondly, the upper and lower hose collars for the main coolant lines do not have the same metal collar insert. Not sure why Behr removed these in follow-on units but be aware that these collars are not up to a real torque-down.
