Perfect fit (factory part) and no problems. I preferred this one per it's country of manufacture and with FCP's lifetime warranty, it was worth the extra $ to me.

Thanks - fast shipping and great service as always, and kudos to Volvo for designing to make this a 1 hour job vs. 1-2 days !

Heater Core Replacement

The old heater core was really beat up and looked bad. Failure could have come at any time. This was an easy fix, it took very little time, and the part fit just great. Make sure you have some rags and stuff for the small amount of spillage you'll have but it worked just great.

Great part and service. Incredibly fast shipment and delivery. Core replaced today as original one (18 years old) started leaking a couple of days ago. Job took about 2 hours with no problems. Left interior panels and trim off until test drive to make sure no leaks. Everything fine. Make sure you order and use new o rings.

Works Great!

I've had this in for the whole winter so far and no problems! Works like it should. (Make sure you replace the O ring seals while you're at it! It's just a few dollars more but worth it so you don't have leaks later)

Perfect Fit. Easy To Install. Works Great With No Problems.

I would buy this again with no hesitation... it fit exactly the same as the original core. It puts out lots of heat just like the original.

This is my third time on this particular repair (all different cars), no comparison to replacing the 240 core! Pinch off the hoses, won't even take two hours. Excellent fit! Fast shipping.

Like most I put this repair on hold for a long time. A couple of panels removed and carpet laid back and you are there. One guy on either side and a plastic bag in the middle worked great. The new Behr fit perfectly. Get two new O rings. It took as much time to give the inside windows a good cleaning as it did putting panels back. You can do it.

No hesitation buying OEM at these prices. Outstanding support- the first unit shipped to me had a crease across the fins, obviously mishandled at some point. One email and a new one was on the way all the way to New Zealand, no questions asked. Now I have heat without the coolant smell. Thanks team!

Get The O Rings

This Heater core is great and replacing it is easy. But get the O-Rings while your at it, they are only a few bucks and dont come with the core.

I replaced my heater core a few months agoi with this Behr one. At the time, I didn't know they sold reinforced ones for cheaper on ebay. The downside with those is that they have a terrible smell, or so I have been told. I directly installed this.. NO SMELL. Price was worth it, and it was at my door in 2 days. Car is no longer a fog machine.

Bit of a pain to install but well worth it to have a fog free windshield, no caramel smell and buying less antifreeze!

This Is What You Need

takes patience and time to change out your old leaky eater core, but it is so worth it. my old core was knackered, the car always felt damp, lots of condensation inside, and would often fume out in the cabin. Took two of us working at a leisurely pace about 90mins to do the job. Car is now dry inside, no vapours or fumes. Just need to get the carpets cleaned of the antifreeze, and we're good. Very impressed with the Behr part. Fives stars, quality part. Mine came with black end tanks. Remember to buy the new seals 3545586OE and a heater hose connection kit 3545662.

Behr Heater Core

Go with Behr. The seal for the Nissen is too thin and does not seat firmly. If you live in a cold climate, the air will never get hot, it will remain warm since the air will flow around the heater core instead of being forced through it due to the thin seal. Therefore heating will be less efficient. The only way to fix this issue is to put in an OE Behr Heater Core or move to a warmer climate.

A good OEM fit and works as advertised - you can pay more but it will last as long as this one. Used it to replace a recent S70 per chase - used a previous purchase for my steadfast 850 - it a simple install but get some trash bags to catch the overflow.

Excellent replacement part for OE, just like the DIY video recommends. Quality component - when replaced all the coolant odor was gone. This is the second 850 that I've done (first was 1995 850 T5R, next was 1996 850R), both done same way. Minor extra work to remove the amp in front of the heater box, but it was only a couple of screws and bolts (very intuitive). Wish that Volvo had a built-in drain for the coolant lost when breaking the o-ring connection (similar to the evaporator drain nearby), or some plastic basin that could slide in underneath to catch the liquid. There was lots of time taken to set up a plastic bag and towels underneath - and still got some drips on the carpet. I didn't remove the passenger side knee bolster and was still able to get the core out easily. Old core was beat up with lots of debris, apparently original 850R owner did not have a cabin filter (which I added as soon as I bought the car). Thanks, FCP for offering the quality parts (including silicone o-rings) to do the job at a very reasonable price.

Excellent product. Still running fine 5 years later in crazy North East winters! Thanks to FCP I didn't get gouged by the dealership equivalent.

Easiest Heater Core Installation Ever

Heater cores, normally, are a beast to replace -- a full-day job, sometimes. The heater core in these cars, however, is surprisingly easy: Remove a few kick panels inside the car, and you've got easy access. Worst case, it could take up to two hours. With a good guide, or mechanical inclination, it'll take you an hour. Stick with the Behr unit. It's not much more expensive than the aftermarket parts, and it outperforms and outlasts them.

Don't get anything else. If you're gonna do the heater core you're gonna want to do it ONCE. Also buy coupler and the new fittings and do everything. Otherwise you're gonna hate yourself.

The "scare" of instlling a heater core made me put off a leaker for years. This turned out to be one of the best repairs I could have made from the standpoint of ease and economy. The Behr is the best quality, and very reasonable for the work that goes into a component of this type. Everything fit like a glove and was well worth the time. I have 260K on my S70 and it has never been warmer.

I agree it was not difficult. this is behr quality at a fantastic price! have read that aftermarket heater cores just don't put out the same amount of heat so this is the only way to go.

Don't Skimp Out On Cheaper Brands, Buy This!

I decided to go the cheap route and buy a cheaper heater core for my 850. Boy was that a mistake, the cheap foam that was included had a terrible burning smell to the point where it was unbearable to drive with the heat on (in temperatures below 30F!!!!!). Because I had to buy this one and replace it again, I had to buy new o-rings just in case. That was an expensive flop. Buy this one, do it once, and do it right. It's easy to do, just completely pull out the driver's side carpet and tape multiple trash bags to catch the spare coolant. And MAKE SURE you use the foam. If you don't, the heat will not get very warm.

This was a MUCH easier installation than the aftermarket manual led me to expect. The VADIS instructions were perfect This heater core fit perfectly in my 1999 V70 and has been in for five months without an issue.
