I replaced this when replacing a warped head on my Red Block. Don't know if the old one caused an overheating issue, or if it was even bad or old. But it is inexpensive "insurance" when re-doing the top end. Now my '93 945 gets up to operating temperature promptly and stays in the proper range....even in near-100 degree conditions....and gives cabin heat quickly on these low-50-something mornings.
