Volvo coolant is recommended for these cars by FCP and by the Volvo company for good reason; protection under all types of conditions and reliability of product standards.

Added 1 Gallen pure water to get 50:50 mixture, and exchang the coolant totally. One suggestion is to press bubbles out in the lower hose before you running the car. While still need about 5 miles to eliminate the bubbles, just top off to correct level.

Bought coolant to do a system flush. It's the blue stuff.

-Using this stuff just makes me feel better when I change my Volvo's coolant. It is a bit more expensive than generic coolant but I feel that it is worth it. Can't beat original OEM quality. Like the blue color more than red or green.

This (mixed 50/50 with distilled water) is all I use in my 240s and 850.

This is the product that came in my 1998 V70 from the factory and is the only product I will ever use. Change every 25K, currently have 185K. FCP is much cheaper than dealer.
