I used to shy away from the Genuine Volvo coolant, but these days it's really about the same cost (or not much more) as what you buy in the neighborhood store. For similar cost, I'd much rather have the Genuine Volvo coolant. I know it won't cause any issues!

Such a deal buying this coolant from FCP, bough two bottles for $19.68 each. I had flushed my radiator and only needed 1 gallon diluted 50/50 with distilled water. I forgot to remove my thermostat however so I don't think I flushed the whole system. A used a radiator flush product at the same time https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/crc-radiator-flush-one-step-cleaner-12-oz-05337. My coolant reservoir took on the green color of this antifreeze and I still have about half a bottle and a full bottle left for future needs. I had to pull over every know and then and top off the reservoir as I got the red triangle and status message to pull over because the coolant was low. Good thing the reservoir has the float sensor to alert you to so much. After about 3 instances of topping off small amounts of coolant my engine's been steady and good to go.

If you value your Volvo, even if out of warranty, this is the only antifreeze to put in. Drain the old antifreeze, disposing it properly, refill radiator with distilled water to flush clean. Let engine run a few minutes, drain again, put one gallon of Volvo Antifreeze, will dilute itself with the clean water left in the engine block. FCP Euro has the best price anywhere!

Spend the extra $5 and buy Volvo coolant
Worth the extra $5 during a $200 timing belt and water pump job. It's a good time to replace the upper and lower hoses (another $15 combined), add a $10 thermostat and $13 temp sensor and you've done the job right.
