My brakes now work as they are supposed to!
The old vacuum switch was broken and the vacuum pump wasn't working at all (2006 S60). It took 10s after starting the car until my brakes were functioning properly. I changed the switch and the vacuum pump works as it's supposed to! The new switch seems more robust because you cannot open it as the original one.

If you see the little spring sticking out of your old one, or if you brake pedal feels "mooshy," replacing this little switch will really help. It took me longer to figure out what this this was than to replace it. Also, it looks like the new one will not come apart like the original one that was on the car- much better! I highly recommend replacing this thing and not letting it go!

I found out this part was broken when I bought my S60. I picked it up here and saved money over the dealer replacing it. It was easy to replace without tools and fit great. Been working for 1 year with no problems.
