I replaced my blower because it was chirping and replaced the resistor since the labor involved is significant and didn't want to do it again later on when the old resistor failed. Super easy to install in the new blower. No issues after a week.

Perfect Fit and operation
Ordered with a replacement blower motor for 2001 V70 X/C. Fit perfect in the new housing provided, just re-use the 2 Torx screws from the old housing. All speeds work normally.

This part fit perfectly and appeared to be identical to the OEM part, which failed at about 165K. With this replacement resistor, the blower worked again. I can't yet speak to longevity.
