You do not need special tools to install these. A regular ball joint press with a hammer will slide these in fine. Make sure to torque the axle bolts to the correct specs.

Install and removal easiest with the CTA 4019 tool
High-quality part, very nice fit! I do recommend the special tool. With the tool, taking out the old ball joints and putting the new ones in takes under 5 minutes per side, raising the car and pulling the LCA's down takes up most of the time. I pulled the lower control arms down with a 2 inch-wide inch ratchet strap (a lot of tension there!). Used the CTA adapter with a slide hammer to pull the old ball joints out (out with 3 wacks). Grease up and tap the new ones in with the tool. Hardest part was guiding the spindle assembly back into the LCA.

Looked like quality product, with the knuckle off, easy remove and replace. Replaced as part of total front suspension job. I'll report back after 5k miles.

Installed without special tools!
Install went smoothly. Was little tough keeping it straight, but it went in without any special tools. Very good quality!

Very Easy Fit, Great Quality
The other reviews didn't lie; these balljoints were very easy to install into the wheel spindle knuckle, and they are fantastic. If you don't go Genuine Volvo, you can't go wrong with these!

easiest ball joints you'll ever do, came with necessary hardware, have so far lasted about 15k miles with no signs of failure

Don't go with anything else these are your last stop when it comes to your lower ball joints.

Great price, fast shipping
Still to be installed, but for the price on special i couldnt pass these up. Especially with lifetime replacement. More preventative maintenance in my case, as car has ~220k on original ball joints.
