Volvo Axle Shaft Front Right (V70 XC & XC70) - Rebuilt 3600053

Axles can last the lifetime of your vehicle. However, it is not uncommon for the axle boots to tear allowing water and dirt to get inside the boot causing damage to the joint. If you have a tear in your axle boot, you have a limited amount of time to reboot the axle before you need to replace the axle.

Common Failure Symptoms:

  • Vibration upon acceleration
  • Ripped Axle boot
  • Grease leaking in wheel well
  • Clicking during turns

Additionally, USA uses only Volvo original axles for its rebuilding process.

Cheap And Seems To Work

I was planning on dumping my car due to a bunch of problems. One being a shaking at highway speeds. After confirming that my passenger side axle was damaged I ordered this rebuilt one to throw in the car. It took me about an hour to swap it out, my original one was very loose. This axle cured the shaking problem. I cant say how long it will last, but it works for now and was cheap. I have about 3k miles on it without issues. I will update if I have a problem. The FCP lifetime warranty gave me confidence in buying the less expensive axle.

Not Worth It

I take my word back. Few axles I've got recently, had utter quality. All of them had play in inner joint, one had snapped axle bolt inside, another threw up all grease just in two months, because USA Industries now put thin cheap CV boots. One time they didn't have rebuilt axle in stock and sent me a new Chinese axle asking me to pay the same price plus core charge. Thieves. Another axle had aftermarket outer CV joint. You may have better luck with used axle from junkyard. Or bite the bullet and buy a new Volvo axle. It's still a rebuilt axle, as I finally did, but what a high quality is that rebuild! At least don't send your core back to USA Industries. It may be so that in a short time your old axle will have more life left in it than your "new" axle.

Axle is rebuilt Volvo. Axle I got (passenger side) had battle scars visible through fresh paint, but both CV joints felt very tight, and the boots are GKN Lobro (OEM). I didn't send my core back, because was not sure about quality in a long term. Car drove only 2000 miles since then, and the ride is still smooth. I'll probably replace remaining aging OE axles and not very good EMPIs in both my wagons with this brand.
