VW Timing Kit for the BEW engine from 2004-2006

VW is known for making fun to drive vehicles with German engineering and provide a great value while producing a terrific car. It's important to pay attention to scheduled maintenance to avoid catastrophic engine problems. FCP Euro always brings you the most cohesive VW parts and kits for the life of your vehicle.

Remember it's recommended that you change your VW timing belt about every 75,000 miles. Your Volkswagen has what is known as an 'interference engine'. In laymen terms this means that your engine is dependent on the successful operation of your timing belt. Unfortunately a snapped timing belt will result in engine failure, and consequentially a huge repair bill.

Belt Kit Was Great

I searched for the parts to do a timing belt on my Diesel Jetta. Being a odd duck of a car it was fairly hard to find the parts. FCP had all the parts in one KIT and what was better, FCP's price was hard to beat! The only 2 things I would suggest are: 1. buy the required timing belt TOOLS. You really need the tools to get it right. 2. Buy the tensioner nut and the idler pulley nut. These nuts are "one use" nuts. They are crush nuts that you torque and then turn another "Half turn". I will be really sad if I ruin my engine due to reusing those dang nuts. It was my choice to do so, but I would definitely rather have had the nuts in the kit instead of the two cam and crank seals which I did not use since I didn't have a seal puller right then.

Some of the reviewers above may have been rewarded for their positive & negative reviews. We don't hold anything back.
