its a plastic socket for a plastic oil filter housing. be gentle and you'll be fine. ABSOLUTELY NO POWER TOOLS.

Nice to have in the hatch!
I was going to skip buying my this, but decided it’d be nice to have it, a threaded wheel hanger, and 17mm nylon wrapped socket in my mini tool kit in the hatch. There isn’t a whole lot that can be said about a socket, but it is nice quality and the packaging is reusable to prevent it from rolling around in the back of my car.

Oil Filter Housing Cap Socket
This socket is high quality and fits well. Can't beat the price either. I used it on my 2011 BMW 335d.
