I always change my oil every 5-6k miles. With mobil 1 I've always had to add a quart of every 2k miles. I then switched to Liqui Moly and only needed to add a quart of oil after 3500-4k miles. I'm now almost 6k miles on this 5w40 Mercedes brand oil and I haven't had to add any oil what so ever. It made my engine quieter and have a smoother idle. I highly recommend using this oil vs the rest. This is for my 2004 E55 AMG.

I believe it's the best engine oil out there for my vehicle. I think it has really kept my older engine running like a much newer one. With over 185,000 miles it still purrs right along.
