At 88k miles my 2011 E350 W212 4matic was intermittently noisy from under the hood. More so when itvwas cold outside. I replaced the tensioner and two idler pulleies and the belt and all is quiet again. Start to finish was 45 minutes and it was my first time. Use the correct torque specifications on these bolts and you will be happy.

Noticed a high pitched squealing noise on cold start up in the morning. Did some online research and found out the pulleys and belt tensioner were the most likely culprits. I watched the tutorial video on FCP Euro before tackling the job and was able to change the tensioner and two pulleys out in about 40 minutes. To make the job a little faster, I switched out the tensioner and the belt pulleys without completely removing the serpentine belt. Just move the serpentine belt out of the way when tackling each pulley and tensioner. Most important part is to start the bolts by hand so as to not cross thread them and to snug them down and not over tighten the mounting bolts.
