Purchase Genuine as it needs to be changed in 40-50K miles.

Bought the Pentosin oil and the electrical connector from FCPEuro to change the transmission oil in the 722.6 Mercedes Transmission (AKA NAG1). The genuine Mercedes transmission connector was a direct fit and comes with upgraded O rings that do not leak. It is somewhat difficult to put the new connector is so will require some force due to bigger O rings. Check out my transmission drain video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGqltqnO-Ug

If you have a 722.6 tranny...you need to replace this. It will save you SOOO much hassle and $$$!. If you just bought a used Merc with one of these 722.6 tranny's...do this right away! Can't stress this enough! Drain your system, replace your connector and filter and then FLUSH your system. Now you know the exact condition of your fluid. It's all new. Then do a filter and fluid change every 35k miles or so, replacing this each time. Might seem overkill to some folks, but the hassle of getting stranded and having to change your conductor plate (or worse) because you wouldn't spend the extra few bucks and fluid leaked into your electronics...well...just don't go there. Chances are that problems will manifest themselves when you're taking your sweetheart out on a first date, or the family on a drive for the weekend. This is cheap insurance. There is a slew of helpful video and photo guides out there. If you can turn a screwdriver you can do this. Just remember to do it after you drain your system and BEFORE you add fluid.

I always replace this part on any benz I get with a 722.6 transmission. Once this item fails (the seals in particular) the transmissions fluid makes its way up the harness and fills the TCU with transmission fluid, I had to replace a TCU and transmission harness because of this and this a great preventative repair and is fairly easy to replace.

Great item, OE fit & quality. Mostly overlooked, fluid leaks past the seals on this connector causing transmission fluid to wick up the wiring harness eventually making its way on the the Transmission Control Module. I severely neglected the one on my car, although I did not have transmission issues, i found my Transmission control module half way full of transmission fluid! Thankfully, no damage to the module but It took several days of cleaning with CRC electronic computer board cleaner and shop air.

Easy to install, perfect fit. Better to replace this item early to avoid transmission fluid wicking up the cable to the transmission computer. Buy the genuine one! Do not buy a copy. They are well priced anyway.

Common issue on these transmissions with the connector leaking, easliy fixed with this upgraded part.
