My 2011 C300 Sport (W204) was throwing a P2442 code: Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve Stuck Open Bank 2. I was noticing that the air pump had a shrieking and whining sound upon a cold start. After investigating, I noticed that the secondary air pump itself had ingested water and caused corrosion and wear on the inner metal fan blades. Moreover, the fuse which regulates power to the pump kept burning out as fast as I could replace them. This signified that the pump was drawing more power in order to get it up to speed to create enough vacuum for the valves to open and close properly. At first, I cleaned out the air pump lubed it with white lithium grease spray. However, it did not solve the issue, the noise continued, and I was burning through more fuses. I eventually threw in the towel and ordered a brand new secondary air pump from FCP Euro. The part arrived quickly, and it had the OEM fit and finish that you would expect from a brand new part. I installed it that same day, along with a brand new 15A fuse (oem). I waited overnight to let the engine cool and allow the computer to engage the secondary air pump as intended on a cold day. The noise disappeared and the pump sounded strong and smooth. The fuse did not burn out, and my check engine light went away on its own after 15 minutes of run time. Highly recommended.

Exactly as original, solved that horrible jet-turbine sound on startup from the old secondary air pump. Easy to install, but it's a tight space to work with - just be patient and take your time.
