Question Posted by a customer
Our 2013 allroad sticker has transmission code 'A8S' which I can't seem to confirm anywhere. And the Erwin manual says to use CVT fluid not 'ATF'. Have not been under the car yet but am I going to find this ZF 8HP trans that uses this fluid? Wanting to buy the fluid before getting the car up on jackstands. Is this the same procedure as on the e90 where you drain and fill with the car running and monitoring the trans temp? Thank you.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
This is the correct fluid for a North American Audi Allroad. The fluid part number is G060162A2. To perform this procedure you will need a scan tool to monitor the transmission temp while filling up the transmission.

Question Posted by Timmothy
Is this compatible with ZF's 6 speed manual transmissions? If so, how many liters do I need? Asking for a 2017 BMW 330i w/manual transmission and no transmission pan.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
No, this fluid is for ZF 8HP automatic transmissions only. You need a manual transmission fluid, MTF-LT-3 compatible, p/n 83222339221 for reference.

Hello, I have a 2013 Audi Q5 with the ZF8HP-55. I plan to change the fluid and install the Audi Automatic Transmission Filter Kit sold here as well. How many of these 1 liter bottles will I need to purchase to drain and refill my transmission back to the proper level? Thanks, Derrick
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Hello Derrick, it's recommended to purchase 5 liters of transmission fluid for a basic drain and refill. Please note that you won't use all of the last bottle while performing the service.

I have a zf 8hp-70 transmission 8speed on my. 2011 bmw 550i i have changed the fluid and it has 130.000 miles with this affect my grant if i only change the fluid and is this the right fluid too??
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Not sure what you're asking when you ask "with this affect my grant". Assuming you're referring to a warranty or something like that. If that's the case, no, using this fluid does not affect a warranty. This is the OE replacement fluid specifically designed for the 8HP transmission.

Will this be good for a 2016 750i xdrive
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes. This is the OE ZF fluid specifically designed for the ZF 8HP transmission equipped on your 2016 750i xDrive.
Question Posted by a customer
Do you carry the BMW transmission fluid? Or is this the same thing with the original manufacturers label that make it for BMW, i’m looking at servicing the transmission on a 2014 BMW 535D,
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
We do not sell or list Genuine BMW ATF3+ for two reasons. First, Lifeguard 8 is the same fluid as ATF3+. There is absolutely no difference between the fluid outside of the packaging. It is worth noting the 8HP transmission used by BMW is a ZF designed, developed, and built transmission. Any ZF part for that transmission is going to be the same part supplied as a Genuine BMW part (including fluid). Secondly, ATF3+ currently has an MSRP of $73.08 per liter (which is an insanely high price). While we would probably sell it for slightly less than the BMW MSRP, the price discrepancy between ATF3+ and Lifeguard 8 is so drastic that the difference in price makes no sense for us to list the Genuine fluid when factoring in there is no difference.
