Question Posted by a customer
This product claims to reduce friction, is not that will have an impact on the consumption? My car burs oil already and do not want to make it worse. Any idea if this product will improve the oil consumption or not?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
CERA TEC provides an extra layer of protection and reduces metal to metal wear, especially on initial engine start-up. This product will not cause any impact on oil consumption and is not intended to improve consumption.

Big FCPEURO fan! I just used Ceratec after changing the oil on my 2010 XC 70 with 174,000 miles. Looks like I’m good for the next 30,000 miles. For subsequent oil changes at 4-5k miles, can I use MoS2 as an additive in those oil changes? I thought I read you can since when your drain the oil after using Ceratec your are draining out the “non-solid” friction fighters and adding Mos2 each each future oil change adds the chemical friction fighters back in?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes, you can use the Liqui Moly MoS2 as well but is not needed with the use of the Cera Tec. The 2 additives both provide wear protection. If you decide to use the MoS2 you might want to stretch the interval instead of every oil change.
Question Posted by Juan
Does this cause any harm if I use it every oil change?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
It won't cause harm but it isn't more effective if used at every oil change.
Question Posted by a customer
Can CERA TEC be added to Liqui Moly Molygen New Generation Oil.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
The Molygen already has an additive package including Cera Tec but at a lower amount. It's not recommended to use Cera Tec with the Molygen since the Molygen already has Cera Tec in it. The Molygen oil is best to be used without this additive or another Liqui Moly oil can be used with Cera Tec added in at the recommended dose.

I just bought the 2021 X5. Can it be used
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes. We recommend using this product after the initial break-in period which is usually 1200 miles for BMW. Ideally, an oil change would be performed after the break-in period to clean any initial wear material out of the engine, and then this product can be used.

An Audi Q7 uses 6.8 liters of motor oil, but your oil package only provides one can of oil additive that only treats up to 5 quarts. How much extra should be added to achieve the proper additive requirements?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
You can purchase a 2nd bottle of CERA TEC and use 1/4 of the bottle to treat the remaining 1.8 liters.
Question Posted by a customer
Hi there, can I still add it after I had the oil changed 2 weeks ago?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes.
Question Posted by Shaun
Can you add this after an oil change, or do you have to add it during the oil change so that it mixes with the oil?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
It's best to do add this product when performing an oil change.
Question Posted by Brian
I'm confused on how frequently to use this product. On youtube video, Liqui Molly seemed to indicate not using it every oil change, yet they also said it was designed for european oil changes with longer durations (up to 30k KM). So if I'm using FCP recommendation of an oil change every 7.5k miles, how many oil changes would I wait before using the product again?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Correct, this product does not need to be used on every oil change. It has an effective service life of up to 30,000 miles (50,000 km). The frequency of oil changes is irrelevant, mileage is the primary factor as to when you would use this product again. If you prefer to change your oil more regularly, say every 5,000 miles, you would want to use this product again on the 5th or 6th oil change. If you prefer an extended oil change interval, say every 7500 miles, you would use this product again on the 4th oil change. General guidelines are 30,000 miles ÷ oil change mileage interval = oil change count between treatment.
