My BMW x5 3.0 has 104k. I changed the spark plugs and saw a video to replace this part due to it being brittle. Youtube Video was correct - the original was brittle and broke - glad I bought this - it works perfectly! Y=Tip- if you're doing spark plugs and have to remove the air duct on the 3.0 v6, buy this part -

Bought to have on hand while doing the spark plugs and of course the old one broke while taking it off so it's definitely useful to have a new one ready. Perfect fit.

Must have OEM only. If you are doing spark plugs or valve cover, you might as well get this just in case. These are known to snap due to how brittle the materials are after being exposed to heat. I will not cheap out on aftermarket for these.

No choice but to have this part on hand whenever you remove the breather tube (spark plug change, valve cover gasket, etc). It’s just too brittle and basically impossible to disassemble without breaking. New part clicked right into place and works well with no down time. You WILL need it - so get it !

Talk about an epic failure on behalf of BMW, likely not the engineers but the bean counters who put them in a strangle hole, but nonetheless this part is doomed to fail and break whenever you need to remove it. Even the most careful of us can break it. FCP Euro has this genuine BMW part for a great price and I plan on buying two more to keep in my own stock as I know I'll be revisiting the removal of this part for other jobs on my wife's X5 and I'd rather just have a new one in case it cracks or breaks again.

This might break when removing the boost pipes as the original gets brittle with age/heat. This OE one fits as expected

I was installing new valve cover gasket, this vent hose was brittle, car is 9 years old, with 100k miles, n55. It broke when I tied to remove it.
