I replaced both my tranny and motor mounts. Car feels much better and much tighter. The old mounts were still usable but they looked compressed from the load. With ~136,000 or 220,000km on them, it was time for a new kit.

Installed on 2003 BMW 530i (E39) - 150K miles. Wow, what a difference installing new engine and transmission mounts makes in the overall performance of my car. No hesitation at idle, no hard shifting issues, much improved comfortable ride. By far, the best improvement in the overall ride comfort I've noticed after replacing any given part of my vehicle.

like butter, now my mounts are replaced
my e46 touring (325i) had around 170,000kms (~105k mi) on the clock when I had the transmission mounts replaced, along with Lemforder engine mounts. I coincided this with the sump gasket replacement job. The car is so much smoother now these four mounts have been replaced, it's smooth like butter. If your car has around 100k miles, you might consider replacing these items. I'm very happy with the OEM Lemforder items. Car now has more than 6000kms more and she's great.
