Does my 2013 bmw 650i gran coupe need to be tuned to use these ?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
No, but it will be important to regap these to 0.56mm (0.022")
Question Posted by Chris
The ngk part finder lists a gap of 0.032". Am I missing where they specify 0.022" for the gap? Could you provide some information about why you are recommending a 0.022" gap? Thanks!
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
NGK would specify a different gap that is correct. However, in the N54, N55, and S55 applications we list this plug for they would be a common upgrade and it is recommended that they be gapped to .022" which is a tighter gap. Provides more efficient ignition and aids in preventing accumulation on the electrode.
Question Posted by a customer
I have a stock 2014 BMW X3 35I M Sport Pkg. and purchased these plugs before reading all of the posts/recommendations, which indicate that these plugs are not designed for my stock N55 engine, which stinks because it appears that I will now need to replace them. With that said, I understand you recommend a re-gap to 0.56mm (0.022"), but if you don't and leave them as the stock gap, are there any advantages or disadvantages to that? Also, will I notice a change if I replace these with an approved plug? The car appears to operate well, but am I sacrificing efficiency, performance, or long-term repercussions by using this plug instead of the recommended one? Thank you. Thank you!

While it may be running well, you may eventually run into issues with misfires and loss of power. More so the plugs could foul early and reduce fuel economy. Would recommend removing and gapping them properly

Would these still work as good as stock plugs? Have a fbo n55 on jb4 tune , stock turbo
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
These should work fine, should you choose to modify the vehicle further these plugs would work well with more power modifications; however you may notice that these plugs foul sooner with your current setup.

Hello, i have a 2016 X5 N55 stage 2 with catless downpipe stock exhaust. To pass inspection i remove the stage 2 and use a special map. Can i run these plugs or im better off using the stock plugs? Thanks
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Stock plugs would be a better option, these plugs would likely cause the vehicle to run rough.

I have a 2016 X6. Can it be used with an N55 engine? What is the one step colder?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
For stock configuration vehicles, this is not recommended. Colder spark plugs are only applicable for modified vehicles with modified ignition timing.
