If you're missing your previous roundel retainers, these will work just fine. Used them on the trunk of my E92 M3 and they fit like a glove - held the roundel nice and firm as well.

I purchased several of these black plastic grommets but only needed one or two. As shown on the internet, the old hood emblem pops up easily with a silicon pry tool. You should mask the paint around your emblem and go very slowly as you pry up the two pins. The pins are at 9 and 3 on a clock. I went too quickly. One of the plastic pins on the back of my old emblem snapped. The solution was probably to drill out the old plastic pin from the old grommet. I made things worse by trying to pry out the old grommet and broken pin. Eventually, the old grommet and pin fell into the cavity below the old emblem. This is a very small cavity. By just barely pushing the old grommet to the side of the cavity, I was able to insert a new grommet. I also replaced the grommet on the other side even though it seemed to be in good condition. The two pins of the new emblem slide into the two new grommets. After a week of driving, my new hood emblem and my two new grommets remain firmly in place.
