Cheap and easy install. Why not change this .21cent o-ring while you have the dipstick tube off. The old one was not bad, but the new one gives me that secure feeling. All parts I have changed are original '01 parts.

I actually prefer the Genuine BMW O ring. I tossed out my previous Genuine BMW O rings on my last oil change and this time went with Victor Reinz. Although it fits and does it's job, the Genuine BMW O rings felt much, much tighter and there was a definite pull required to remove the dipstick from the tube which for me, feels like there will be zero possibility of a vacum leak at the dipstick end.

Never replaced the dipstick o-ring seals. 16 yr old car. Decided to replace. The generic o-rings from Harbor Freight just never seem to match the BMW ones I need!

I installed a catch can, which creates much more vacuum. I replaced these in order to best seal the whole system.
