Question Posted by a customer
I have a 09 335i e90 .. i already have b6 bilsteins and replaced front shock mounts as they were worn .. i need rear shock mounts and want to replace all control arm bushings and ect. Was thinkin aftermarket adjustable stuff but im not a drifter i just fly down backroads .. will this kit fit part for part swap on everything but rear trail arms ?? And being a non m do i need m trail arms and or anything else ??
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Everything in this kit is a direct fit without modification and includes all parts that can be swapped from the E9X M3 onto a regular E9X chassis car. Trailing arms are the same on the rear suspension regardless of whether the vehicle is an M3 or not. This kit includes the rear upper control arms only. The toe link and lower camber/rollover strut cannot be swapped from the M3 without additional parts including shocks, knuckles, subframe, etc.

I have a 2011 335i M Sport. I have already purchased this kit. I just have one question. My car has what looks to be 3 control arms in the rear but the kit only comes with 2. Does this kit eliminate the need for that 3rd arm or would I need to buy it separately if the stock one is damaged?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
This kit does not delete any control arms. The rear suspension requires all 5 links to be mounted left and right. The control arm not included is the toe arm which cannot be used from the M3 on standard E9X chassis cars. You have to retain the factory toe link which is why it's not included in this kit. It is only replacing the two primary upper arms.

I have a '13 135is Since I'll have these work done for the front/back control arm kit, what other components would be recommended installing to upgrade a worn suspension?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
You may want to replace strut and shock mounts and possibly replace shocks and struts as well depending on mileage. Other things to replace would be the sway bar links and tie rod ends.

I have a 2011 328i (e93). I’ve been looking at the comparable BMW 10-Piece Control Arm Kit - Lemforder E9X10PIECECAKITL ( https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-control-arm-kit-10-piece-e90-e90fullkit-l and was curious if I should order the tie rods and rack and pinion bellow kit separately and any additional bolts/nuts etc.?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
It's only necessary to replace the tie rods if they are worn or you would like to replace them at the same time as the front control arms. The bolt kit would be required for installation of either the non M3 control arm kit or the M3 control ar kit. Fasteners are the same regardless of the control arms being installed.

I am looking to put this kit on my 2011 335i. Will there be any modifications that need to be done for it to fit properly? Also, should I also replace the sway bar links at the same time? I see the non-M kits have the sway bar links included.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Modifications are not required. These control arms install the same as the original control arms. You can replace the sway bar links if you'd like to but not required.

Does this kit fit RWD cars with active steering? Once installed, are there any alignment differences between cars with and without active steering?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
This can be installed on vehicles without active steering. Yes, there will be an alignment difference notably in the front as you get extra static negative camber which cannot be changed. The toe alignment is the only thing that matters and that will be set to the factory settings for your vehicle.
Question Posted by Robert
How much does the -.75% camber affect tire wear? If a tire has a 40k average life, will it affect this by 5, 10, 25% based upon daily city & highway driving (no performance driving)?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Camber does not affect tire wear as long as the toe angle is set correctly. Improper toe settings (anything other than factory) will cause the tires to wear faster than increased camber on it's own.
