I didn't use all of the fluid so you should be fine. New bolts and plugs are a plus. Shifting is smoother and quicker after a hundred or so miles mixed driving.

I appreciate FCP carrying genuine ZF pan/filter and ZF fluid. Its not cheap, but I'm really happy I was able to get OEM parts/fluid. Its also really nice having the video showing exactly how to do it. I do recommend getting the fancy syringe pump. I used a cheap one that made the job more difficult than it needed to be.

If you want your transmission to last, service with this kit!
No one should ever believe the transmission fluid in the ZF is "lifetime", it simply is not. The actual manufacturer of the transmission, ZF themselves, recommends around 50,000-65,000 mile replacement of the filter and fluid. I bought my X5 used with 60,000, replace this at 65,000. The fluid with kit is exactly what you need, and there are people who will tell you that you can use "equivalent" fluids for much less cost; however, take into consideration a replacement transmission can be between $7000-$9,500! So, use this kit with the ZF fluid every 50,000-65,000 miles and, if you're like me, do a drain and fill every 20,000-30,000 miles too, and you can potentially just extend the life of the filter with doing that, but the cost isn't so bad and it keeps the entire car running like new.
Search all over the Internet if you want, FCP has the best price for what you're getting in this kit.

Everything is as described. Follow the instructions on FCP's video, and prolong this extremely expensive transmissions life.

Very high quality kit made by ZF at a fair price. What more could you ask for? I would like to replace the sealing sleeves between the mechatronic unit and the ceiling of the transmission housing, though, but I don't see them available for sale any where. They are not the same as the seals for the 6HP transmissions that are widely available so I wonder if they even need to ever be replaced. I've asked FCP EURO but have not received a response.....

It's almost everything you need. Just get a quart pump kit, some gloves and a pan to catch it in. I found if you let the fluid sit in the sun while you drain and replace the filter you will be at 40c. Disclaimer: it was a 70f sunny day in California.

Spend your DIY money right the first time and buy the OEM kit. Now...about that awful smell....

I bought this to do the transmission fluid exchange at a shop that allowed me to bring it in.
Car is a BMW 335i with 70K miles on it.
I was left with one of the bottles unopened.
The car works as expected, can't say if it's an improvement, but definitely required for proper car maintenance.
