You don't mention in the video if the transmission should be up to operating temp before draining. Should it be at operating temp to drain as well as checking final fill? Thanks

It's not necessary for the trans to be at operating temperature to drain. You will not remove any additional fluid doing so but the trans fluid warmed up will allow for the drain process to go quicker. The trans being at a operating temp window is critical for the refill due to expansion of the fluid.

Will F-series need software programming? i know i saw the other question but curious as i thought this was required. 2011 bmw X3 35i N55 motor. thanks
Answer(Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
For a drain and fill service no programming or resetting is required. Only time this is required is if another component inside the transmission is replaced which requires coding and resetting of adaptations.
QuestionPosted by Bilal
Does anything need to be reset via bmw software (on BMW 2013 328xi)? Will it just be fine to drain and fill (following ZF procedure on warming up oil and checking proper fluid level, or is bmw software required on the newer cars)
Answer(Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
There is no reason to do an adaptation reset. As long as the transmission is operating normally a drain and fill service will be perfectly fine to perform. Follow ZF's procedure for checking proper fluid level on the final fill and you will be perfectly fine.

Do you need to buy a gasket separately when re-installing the filter?
Answer(Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
The gasket is included with the pan/filter assembly.
