I just ordered this for my car. Changed the filter and fluid. the job was pretty easy. I have seen complaints about the gasket being cheap. The gasket that came with mine was excellent quality. same rubber/metal type as factory. This kit also comes with hardware. I am glad it did. I stripped the drain plug and had to use a cold chisel to knock it loose. But, FCP supplies you with a replacement in the kit. I was hesitant to do this job on my car as I believe it is the original transmission and I have 212000 miles. I feel pretty confident the previous owner did not ever have the transmission serviced. Prior to the service, the car had some hard shifts like downshifting from 2-1. There were some sort of low speed juddering. Like driving around 20mph in a neighborhood, it would shake a bit. All of those characteristics are gone. I did the service and reset the adaptations using the pedal method. The car drives very smooth. I am quite impressed. Thanks FCP.

Everything was just as you see in the pictures.....except for the gasket. As another reviewer mentioned, the gasket that comes with this kit is vastly inferior to the BMW gasket. It lacks the metal rings around the pan bolts as well at the tabs that keep the gasket securely in place as you tighten the pan bolts in the proper order. I also re-used my old gasket and had no leaks. Everything else was excellent and the Liqui Moly Top Tec fluid seems to be doing a good job in the transmission. My fluid service life was at 5% with 127,000 miles, so do yourself a favor and dump the old fluid and refill with this. Works as advertised. Just be aware that the o-ring for the old filter will probably be stuck in the transmission when you pull the old filter out. Mine needed some friendly persuasion before I could dislodge it and get it out. No amount of pulling with a pick was working. You'll also want some sort of pump to get the ATF fluid up into the fill hole of the transmission.

It was a nice kit that comes with everything you need to do the trans filter. The only down side is gasket they send is the cheapo one that leaks. I actually just reused the original BMW gasket as it was twice as thick, and still looked good. No leaks.

Kit came with everything needed for a proper transmission service. Liquimoly bottles even have a spout to help you poor into the fill hole.
