I have a BMW 2008 x3si with 6 spd auto trans with 153,000 miles. Have never ha any trans issues. Would like to change fluid and filter now. To my knowledge it has never been done. Is there an adaptation reset procedure that will have to performed after I change the fluid?

No. You should only reset adaptations if something has mechanically been changed inside the transmission. Adaptation values are stored/used by the transmission control unit (Mechatronic in this case) to maintain shift integrity/quality as components in the transmission wear.
