BMW GA6HP19Z Mechatronic Service Kit - 24152333907KT3
Used this along with the solenoid kit. Note you need to get a foam sleeve to protect the solenoids from transmission fluid as well, but I think Pelican sells them and ebay. Did not see them here. Also, the transmission must go through a relearn procedure - car must be reset using a lap top software Resetting Adaptations using INPA and also you must follow the driving procedures which require a very long stretch of abandoned road. I go it done and the trans on my daughter 2008 e60 shifts perfectly now.

My transmission was all over the place with shifting and hunting for gears, plus it slipped going into 4th and was leaking. Now it shifts perfectly again and I'm leak free.

Review - BMW GA6HP19Z Mechatronic Service Kit - 24152333907KT3
This kit contained everything I needed to replace the 6-spd automatic transmission filter & fluid on my E60 530i. I even purchased new rubber seals that are exchanged when the Mechatronic unit is removed. This kit was listed as an exact fit for my car, but one of the seals: Auto Trans Valve Body Seal was the wrong part (ZF 24347588724). My car
requires ZF 24347588759. FCP Euro acknowledged this error via email. Instead of waiting 2-3 days after ordering the correct part, I modified the new part that sent me so that it would fit. Overall, this filter and Mechatronic seals swap was only moderately difficult, as once the (warmed up) old fluid is drained and the filter is removed, the tranny drips oil for hours. So as you work underneath changing seals, etc. you are getting dripping tranny fluid on your hands, arms, face, ears - it is a messy job. ZF says you need to measure the temperature of the tranny (to get fluid to proper temperature) before you do the final fill. So you need a way to measure that temperature or you need your laptop and OBD cable running BMW diagnostic software to let the car tell you what the tranny thermal monitor reads. I also found that I needed a little more than 7 quarts of fluid to completely fill that tranny when running at proper temperature (35-40C). Finally ZF's scary warnings and cautions about tranny failure if you don't use their own $$$ ZF Lifeguard 6 fluid is extreme marketing since there are some aftermarket tranny fluids that are inadequate. However Pentosin ATF1 is an excellent, full compatibility, high performance, long life, tranny fluid alternative to ZF Lifeguard 6 - and it costs much less. Since only 50-60% or so of the total tranny fluid drains out during this service (the torque converter still has several quarts), many BMW / ZF mechanics recommend changing the fluid a 2nd time, perhaps 100-300 miles after this service. The filter and mechatronic unit does not need to be touched, just drain and refill the fluid a 2nd time per ZF instructions. This will get the percentage of new / old fluid above 75%.

All you need for servicing your transmission!
The best kit out there if you're considering changing your transmission fluid, something I'd recommend doing if you're BMW is over 100K miles. All OE parts, from the makers of your transmission.
