A one year hunt and many parts later this finally fixed my problem. Did all the normal Evap/misfire repairs: Intake boot, Disa Valve rebuild/gasket, plugs/coils, VCG, CCV, Oil filter housing, SAP..etc.... Granted that's all necessary maintenance/well needed, this was finally the last piece of the puzzle. This was hands down the EASIEST fuel pump replacement I've ever done, even easier than a chevy small block mechanical pump. The VDO pump is exact fit replacement for OE. I have been chasing a lean condition code (LT fuel trim) which this finally addressed.

I reinstalled the first pump several times thinking it was an installation error on my end and tested the gauge resistance values and they seemed to be normal. I ordered a new one because the first continued to show a significantly incorrect fuel gauge reading. Tested the second ones resistance values and got the same result for both. However, the second one has worked perfectly since the first instalation.

330CI wouldn't start, felt like it wasn't getting fuel. Cranked over fine, wouldn't run. Verified I still had 12v power to the old fuel pump when ignition turned on (rule out relay and fuse), and no fuel pressure at the fuel rail by depressing schrader valve under intake cover. Also, there was audibly nothing happening once I got the back seat removed. Next day shipping was worth it for me and it came on time (about 1 uber ride to work equivalent cost). Was able to change out the fuel pump in no time at all. Also ordered new fuel pump gasket and a replacement fuel pump hose clamp (factory hose clamp is a 1 time use you have to cut off). OEM fuel pump, perfect fit and perfect function. Bought this to swap with an aftermarket pump when the fuel sending unit malfunctioned after 2 years of use. All good now!
