If you are doing this on a 2009 328iX with automatic tranny (and probably many other variants), you'll need a 14mm hex key (allen wrench) or the $25 special allen wrench tool that fcp sells. There is limited access to the transfer case drain because of the trans pan, so hex sockets will not work!.

The highlight of this product is that it comes with a built in pour tube making the head oil much easier to put in.

Changing all the drivetrain fluids is cheap insurance. The front differential is the easiest to service with dedicated drain and fill plugs.

This includes everything you need to service the differentials. Worked good for me.

Ended up changing the front diff, transfer case and rear diff on my 2013 X5. Rear diff was one hole and just sucked it out and replaced with another liter of the liqui moly stuff. Transfer case was harder to fit a small piece of allen and wrench to the fill plug (takes different fluid sold by shell or bmw). The front diff was the hardest but this kit worked great and the car drives noticeably smoother and quieter. There's a couple resources for the front diff on the X5 but after the LCI it seems they put some brake or hydraulic lines that weren't on the older models directly in front of the fill hole. I came at it from the bottom and debated whether or not to do it since it was so far up my fingers couldn't reach it to thread the new plug back it. With a bunch of tools it worked out and I measured what came out and refilled with the exact same amount. So far so good! Liqui Moly FTW!

Fit perfect. All parts included. Much easier having the fluid and plugs in one kit than having to search for them.

The kit came with just what I needed for the job. It was nice to have because I likely wouldn't have purchased the plugs and they definitely needed to be replaced.
