OEM replacement
Did not solve my problem. Have to turn to a smoke test. Most common cause of pressure loss. Start here with OEM cap.

Good quality, not quite OEM
Material of strap is different, BMW logo is no where to be seen on this "Genuine BMW" part. Good quality otherwise, but I have my doubts this is actually OEM. I was a BMW tech from 2014-2016 in Seattle and BMW puts their logo on every visible part of their cars so again, I have my doubts the one I received is OEM.

Great fit
Great fit on an e83, 2008 BMW X3. My rubber seal had worn down, and I took a shot at this fixing vapor leak detection code....it did. :-)

Check engine light with P0457 code on OBD scanner - Gas cap replace
BMW X5. Check engine light on dash with P0457 code on OBD scanner. Commonly a gas cap problem. Checked cap was fitted correctly, cleared code, code returned. Car is 10 years old and knowing the seal on the gas cap can go bad, I decided to replace the cap. Cheaper than a smoke test. :-) BMW issued a new and improved gas cap. Purchased that one from FCP Euro which arrived sooner than they predicted. Replaced cap, cleared code, problem never returned.
