Goto German Auto Solutions for improved cap
I have bought replacement caps.
I have found German Auto Solutions of Michigan.
They have deduced that the factory spec pressure relief of 2.0 bar is too high.
They have engineered a 1.2 bar cap. I highly recommend. (I do not work for G.A.S.)

Bought after expansion tank blew and cap was no longer holding pressure. This works great. Put a few hundred stressful miles on it= works great!

Worked ok for a year, not sure what happened but, suddenly lost coolant 1 year after replacing my entire cooling system. Only parts not OE or BMW were the Wahler thermostat, HEPU water pump, and this Rein cap. A cap out of spec will allow too much pressure to build and blow gaskets causing expensive repairs, or an under pressure cap will cause the same thing, allow coolant out creating air space which causes micro boiling (not good). Just know I had coolant leaking from upper and lower BMW radiator hose connections, Wahler thermostat electrical connection o-ring was dripping coolant (common Wahler problem if you do the search), Hepu water pump was dripping out of the freeze plug, all sources dripping coolant onto my 1 year old belts slinging coolant everywhere. Hopefully I didn't blow a head gasket. Not good in a pressurized cooling system. Switched back over to all BMW parts, properly bleed the cooling system, and problem solved. Not sure which one of the 3 OEM parts were the culprit but, will go ALL BMW PARTS from here on out for reliability. I don't have $5,000 for a new engine or head gasket repair to play around with OEM parts in a cooling system, very critical to get the right parts. Spend the few extra bucks and get the parts that are specifically tested, quality controlled, and BMW approved for the engine to be trouble free is my best advice. No I don't recommend using these OEM parts based on my experience. But that's just me. To each their own!
