this pump is great however the M8x26mm bolts do not work, the rubber isolators make these too short. You NEED to order the M8x32MM bolt kit, part number 11510392553. A quick phone call and the technician on the phone knew exactly the problem i was having and what part i needed. FCP Euro please update your kit and description to make sure people order the correct length bolts.

Due to the pump malfunction, it has become inoperative, resulting in the car fan running at maximum speed. It appears that the replacement part's quality is inferior to the original, rendering the lifetime warranty impractical since I would need to repurchase the part and incur significant shipping costs from Bahrain to the US in order to return the faulty item to FCP Euro. The shipping expenses outweigh the cost of the part itself.

Review - Electric Water Pump
Arrived in perfect condition. Buyer be advised: this pump does not come with replacement bolts. Also, word to the wise: its notoriously difficult to put in the top bolt, so save yourself the pain by removing the fan shroud to give you better access. This is my 3rd pump overall (1. factory, 2. dealer, 3. FCP) and I'm SO glad to finally have been able to purchase this through FCP. Their Lifetime Replacement Warranty has given me a peace of mind I've been without since original ownership in 2010. I HIGHLY recommend doing business here.

Hubby got this out and in under 2 hours on my 2015 535I, removed the fan and it came out easily from the bottom. No issues with the hoses. Replaced the thermostat also which was a bear to remove due to the placement angle of the clamps. He changed the angle so next time it’ll be easy. Thx FCP for great parts and fast service!

I bought this item and installed 9 months ago. Absolutely no problems. The installation is another story in itself. Go with oem hoses and that will solve the fitment headache.

Last one I bought at 74,000 It hasn’t stoped working at 151000 miles. Don’t want to risk it so replacing it again just to be safe. Works great, exact same one as Original in the car except for BMW logo. Why pay more when it’s the exact same!!!!

Ordered this for our 2011 335i xDrive with N55. Removed the original failed unit along with thermostat. Noticed the original pump lacked the three rubber bushings at the mounting holes; the new pump included them. Ordered the steel replacement bolt kit linked to the water pump page just to be on the safe side even though the existing bolts were already steel and could've been reused. Noticed that with the rubber bushings, the mounting bolts are potentially too short at 26 mm long. The aluminum versions are 32 mm long, likely to provide for the bushing thickness. But who wants crap aluminum bolts that break easily? So I stuck with the steel versions and left the bushings intact since I would think they will provide protection from engine vibration. I added some mild threadlock to help keep them from loosening. ECS website implied that the rubber bushings were discontinued and latest pump version lacks them yet my pump date code shows it was made only a month or two ago. Should I have removed them? No guidance in box or on FCP page if so.... I think FCP should offer a 32mm long steel bolt kit for this purpose.

This is now my 4th water pump. All of my previous pumps have cracked in exactly the same location on the cheap and nasty plastic impeller casing. The OEM BMW pump is a rebranded VDO pump, and ALL aftermarket pumps are rebranded VDO pumps, so don't think for a moment that any one of them will be better. They're identical, and they all crack. The hoses that attach to this pump tend to get pretty stuck, so I always use a thin layer of sticky silicone grease to protect the rubber, enhance the seal, and ease disassembly of the joint later - which WILL be required when the water pump fails again. It's a pathetic and inexcusable design flaw, if you ask me. And VDO says they see no reason to change the design because "they only have a 1% failure rate". BS. maybe 1% inside their joke of a "warranty". It's a MUCH higher failure rate if the car is kept running for years. Thank goodness for FCP Euro!

its worth doing this yourself. I have the 535xi and even with the aws this is do-able without raising the engine or dropping the sub frame. the coolant radiators have to come out.
