My original sender was sending me erratic reports; at max oil level one daty, below min the next. After reading up on the topic, decided it was time to replace the sender. That was a relatively straightforward job, although I was surprised at the large number of screws that hold the splash guard in place. Also, undoing the wire clip was a bit fiddly, but of course managed in the end and taking off and re-installing the sender was simple. Readings are now consistent, so it seems my nervous days are over (this model does not have a dipstick so your only way of checking oil level is through the sender. So it better work! I considered getting an aftermarket replacement, even from Hella they are much, much cheaper, but given how I do all maintenance myself, I usually opt for the original BMW part, for piece of mind.

Perfect Fitment. My last oil level sender was faulty and cause that the water pump keep working when the car is off and other problems with battery. With this new sensor all my problem was solved. THANKS FCP EURO.

Purchased this part for my '07 328xi cause I would experience low oil level warnings when parked on hills even though the oil level was at the correct level. These senders get brittle with age and the top cap will fall off and make the sender fail or work only on level ground. Easy replacement when doing an oil change. Be sure to check you old sender for the top cap or go back to the oil pan and retrieve it.
