Amazing!
I have it on my X5 with n55 engine for a couple of thousand miles so far and I am very happy with it. ZERO "cling, cling" "tic, tic" start up noise from the press of the button. Zero, nada. Even in freezing temperature. Up to 3k rpm i get super smooth acceleration with nearly absent vibrations on steering wheel or my elbows, if you know what I mean. It gives a bit better gas mileage than Penzoil Euro 5w40, which was already way better than anything I had used before. The engine coolant tend to stay around 106/107 celsius without peaking to 110C too often, while sitting in Manhattan traffic, as with other oils (Castrol Edge, Mobil1) or again with the 5w40 Penzoil (which is a Shell Helix Ultra oil of the same family as this BMW oil, by the way). Yet likely because it is thinner, it generate less friction and less heat. Obviously it takes a little longer to get the engine in temperature. I do not know about engine protection, but since there is less vibration, smoother acceleration, less heat there should be less friction and wear. As for long oil change capabilities, I do not really care since I replace the oil every 4/5k miles.

Oil Choice
2006 X3 M54 engine, 82,000 miles now - I've been using this over the last year with the thought that it would help with the infamous lifter ticking. I believe that it has. Also, we're subject to sub 0 temps, so it's good to know this will flow. The car is a daily driver kept outdoors, and I'm happy with this oil for the reasons stated. Lastly, you can't beat the lifetime replacement. For $25 shipping charges to send back the old oil and OEM filter, you get a whole new set worth almost $100, over and over. Can't beat that!

The best oil for your BMW
Before I bought my BMW I used Mobil 1 0w-30 in my Mercury and Toyota. I could tell a difference in how smooth it they ran and start up in winter was much faster. When I first bought my e66 the BMW 5w-30 was still being used. When BMW switched to 0w-30 I could tell the same difference.

Good buy !
Car is much more fuel efficient. MPG went from 15.3 to 15.8 after oil change 2011 328xi. But was slightly pricey. May get same result with different brand for better price.
